Welcome from Peter Waller-Flynn, CEO

Welcome to the November edition of the Privilege HR newsletter!
As November marks Men’s Mental Health Month, we’re dedicating this issue to raising awareness, encouraging open conversations, and highlighting the support available for men’s wellbeing. We’re also proud to feature our partnership with Headstart Mental Health Clinic, providing expert support for employees, along with some
updates from our franchises to keep you informed about what’s happening across the Privilege HR network. Mental health matters to all of us — and no one should face challenges alone.
Men’s Mental Health Month:
Why Workplace Support Matters
November marks Men’s Mental Health Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness, breaking stigma, and encouraging open conversations around men’s wellbeing. At Privilege HR, we believe mental health is just as important as physical health, and supporting it in the workplace is not only the right thing to do, but essential for building strong, resilient teams.
Men often face unique pressures: the expectation to stay strong, stay composed, and keep challenges to themselves. These pressures can make it harder to reach out for support, even when it’s most needed. In the workplace, this can lead to stress going unnoticed, productivity decreasing, and overall wellbeing declining.
That’s why creating a culture of openness and support is so important. Encouraging conversations, offering accessible mental health services, and promoting a healthy work-life balance can make a profound difference in someone’s life.
This month is a reminder to check in, with your colleagues, your team, and yourself. A simple conversation could be the first step in helping someone feel seen, heard, and supported.
At Privilege HR, we remain committed to helping organisations prioritise wellbeing, reduce stigma, and create environments where everyone feels safe to ask for help.

Meet Andy The Founder Behind Headstart

At the heart of Headstart is Andy, the clinic’s founder and lead therapist. After serving in the Armed Forces, he retrained in mental health, achieving a BSc (Hons) Psychology, PgDip in CBT, and PgDip in Mental Health Science.
With 13 years’ experience, Andy has supported clients through a wide range of mental health conditions. He is trained in CAMS (suicidality assessment and management) and has recently worked closely with emergency workers experiencing suicidal ideation.
